I neglected to write my 8 month post when Spence hit this milestone last week (bad mommy!). But, I had a good excuse - I was too busy playing with him to write about it. Plus, we already covered this month's milestones. So, let's talk about me instead.
Yesterday I said this:
I miss being pregnant.
What? I do? We're on vacation the same place we went last Labor Day when I was very pregnant so everything we do reminds me a bit of being pregnant. And I think I'm finally far enough removed from it that I can miss it. Luckily I still have my blog archives to read if I forget too much. (Sorry, mom - no more grandkids for a bit!)
The other thing I realized this week is that I can think back to those first 3 months without cringing. I went shopping on Monday (by myself! bliss!) and I went into the Carter's store and I saw all the little onesies that Spence used to wear. The one he wore home from the hospital. The pajamas he wore until they wouldn't zip anymore. And I felt sad. I heard a tiny baby scream (one of those non-human shreiks) and I don't run the opposite direction. In fact, I'm feeling downright nostalgic for those early months. They really do go by so fast - just like everyone told us they would.
And so, I invite you to take a trip with me down memory lane as we celebrate 8 months of Spence.

awww. he's just so smiley. it's much harder to pull the smiles out of mr. serious over here.
and why did clyde just watch this video with me and say, "mommy, who's that baby you're with?" i keep telling him we just have similar glasses, but he insists that you are me.

wow! he is really getting so big, hard to believe he grew so much in 8 months! I love that last shot of him getting a bath in the sink -- too adorable! Yay Spence! Yay Mom!
